I know, I know, its been a hot minute since Ol’ Inky here has put anything up, but I been busy!
Doing what you ask?? why nothing less than one of the most important things an artist can do… and that’s Livin!
Ya see, the hell about being creative is it takes energy to do. Its exhausting, but so rewarding! unfortunately though, it takes more than just the wanting… it also takes having experiences that you can shovel into The Furnace to burn like coal. the furnace ain’t picky either, at least mine ain’t.
everyone has experiences, you have them yourself every day without realizing it! Sometimes Happy ones, Sad ones, terrible ones, fullfilling ones… it doesn’t matter! they all go into The Furnace! Each one helps stoke the Fires of Creativity to burn brighter and brighter.
Recently, I had a rather unique experience; where I was able to attend a gathering of sorts, where a group of people felt strongly enough about something to go outside and tell the world how they felt about it. There were many people there who felt this way, I don’t recall the exact numbers the local rag estimated but they filled the whole of Main Street sidewalk for at least 2 blocks! We were out there for the better part of 2 hours before the cold finally caused me to seek warmer environments.
It was interesting though, these people, many of them did not know each other personally, there was one I spoke to man who drove over 2 hours to come be present and to speak his mind! You could tell everyone there was cold, but they still came out despite it! Singing, Laughing, sharing experiences, thoughts and impressions of things. Now thats the stuff that Artists thrive on!
