Hello! I am The Cursed Inkwell, or “Inky” for short! I make Spooky art, Cursed cartoons and Creepy Creations for my own enjoyment!
I am primarily a Mixed Media artist, doing mostly pen and ink. I use graphite quite a bit, as well as also do some marker art, as well as Digital and pixel art! I work with whatever medium i feel like depending on the day.
I began seriously pursuing art innnnnn *checks sketchbooks* 2024, although that wasn’t the first time I picked up a sketchbook. It was however the first time I kept at it, deciding to work on improving instead of just putting it down and giving up after a few weeks.
I have always been aware of spooky stuff, as a kid I had night terrors in the worst way, and was generally considered to be a “scaredy cat”. Easily frightened by anything unexplained, I would literally jump at shadows in the dark when I had to take out the trash late at night. As years have passed, I have learned to harness this, and use it to fuel my art, I now have a pretty good appreciation for a lot of Horror media, and now avidly consume the things that used to terrify me as a kid.
Being a part of the Millennial generation, I also have a pretty healthy appreciation for nostalgia, which has lead me to develop a love for some older animation styles like the “Rubber Hose” animation from the late 1920s to early 1930s, as well as a few other notable classic cartoon styles.
Like a lot of Artists, My influences stem from media I’ve consumed that has made me feel some type of way! I’ve always loved cartoons, and seeing the resurgence of certain styles in media makes me extremely happy, because you don’t see a lot of it these days. we have lost the passion for ridiculous things, and I feel like that should be brought back.
